German Bierfest - History
Atlanta’s German Bierfest was born out of a simple idea: create a day to showcase and celebrate German culture with authentic German beer, food, and music.
German Bierfest started in 2003 in what felt like a backyard get-together with 150 guests and a selection of 16 German beers. The event was a hit, and the founding team was inspired to grow the event and share it with the City of Atlanta. Throughout the years, German Bierfest moved to larger locations to accommodate growing crowds, more beers and activities. Today German Bierfest is on the ‘must-do’ list of Atlanta’s fall-time festivals attracting thousands of festival fans and beer lovers each year.
German Bierfest is Atlanta’s longest-running and coolest beer festival. Each year, our loyal event fans, as well as new fun seekers, descend on the event to drink, play and eat their fill of authentic German culture. This family-friendly event is jam-packed with authentic German beers, food and music. The event features more than 35 German beers plus live music from a German oom-pah-pah band and delicious eats from German restaurants and vendors. Additionally, fans look forward each year to experiencing the ever-changing line up of games and activities inspired by German culture.
German Bierfest benefits the German American Chamber of Commerce and is produced by Premier Events, Atlanta’s leading event production company that works with the top events, festivals, and venues in the metro Atlanta area and Southeast.
